People and relationships

People and relationships

Let’s talk about people. Life is all about relationships. In life you will have deal with people all the time in almost everything you do. Life revolves around interacting with others and this is called relationships. Whether it be an acquaintance, a friend, family member, coworker or boss your relationship and the way you interact with them will determine a lot in regards to whether you have a positive or negative experience with that person. It will also determine whether or not you get what you want out of the encounter. For instance, if you have a negative attitude you are most likely not going to have a good experience and you will almost for sure not get the cooperation you were looking for. In life we want to build many healthy relationships. It has been said that we should spend 30% of our time with people that are above us or that have achieved something that we want to achieve, 30% of our time with people that are where we are in life, 30% of our time helping people to move up in life or just giving back, and 10% of our time resting.  So what can we do to optimize how we interact with others? We can start with remembering people’s names. This is a fundamental that you should focus on whenever you meet someone new. It has been said that a person’s name is the most important word they will ever hear. Remembering a person’s name tells that person that they stood out to you and that they were important in your eyes. That will make them feel important and as we all know we all like to feel important.  Also it will help you to focus on what the other person wants. If you can do this they will be inclined to help you get what you want in return. Most people become so blind to what they want that they forget to look at what the other person needs. This leads to all sorts of misfortune. If the person you are talking to is going through a rough time or is preoccupied with something else you would want to get that issue removed so that they can more clearly focus on what you need. How many times have we needed something but we charged in only thinking of ourselves and run smack into someone else’s bad day? Now we are both in conflict and end up venting at each other so instead of getting what we needed we end up more aggravated. Now that was an extreme example, but even on the other side of the coin how many times have you needed something and found your boss distracted or just unwilling to help even when your suggestion is a good one. Never out shine the people above you. This causes people to become scared and people that are in fear do very irrational things. When you need something from someone try to make it their idea that way they are more inclined to help you. Also remember to smile. It is very hard to stay unhappy in the face of a cheerful smiling person. Even the most angry people will lose a lot of their anger in the face of a smile. Be willing to compromise. When you are working with others be a team player even if your idea is the best. If you are not willing to work with others and compromise the other person may become resentful and that will stop all progress toward the goal. On a side note, once you have aroused someone’s ego they will hold their ground even if they are completely wrong. It is hard for people to lose face so if you start to have an issue with someone take them to the side and try to work it out in private or just drop it for a time and try to come back to the issue after you have both calmed down. Also never insult someone or argue. This never accomplishes anything and is a complete waste of time and energy.  This has run a little longer than I wanted. There is so much to talk about here that we could go on for much longer but for now I would like to leave you with one more thing…toxic people. In life you are going to run into people that are just there to use, manipulate, and take These people may pose as good people but they have no drive, no purpose, and they do not want you to succeed They are just going to suck the happiness and joy from your life and bring nothing but problems to your world. Avoid these people like the plague. They will keep you from achieving your true purpose.

5 Thing's to make your life better

5 Things to make your life better

1. Be optimistic: Our attitudes are controlled by us. As much as we think they are not, if we are optimistic in our thinking we will be happier in our daily lives.

2. Sleep: If you don’t get enough sleep you lose the ability to think correctly. This will affect everything in your life and not in a good way. Now the right amount of sleep varies so look at what works for you.

3. Exercise: This is huge. If you look at successful people, almost all of them work out at least a little. Working out, in fact, releases an endorphin in the brain similar to smoking, which increases your happiness as well as relieving stress and keeping you fit, which will help in all your daily activities

4. Spend time with friends: This helps in a few different ways. One is to relieve stress. Two is that hanging around people who share your interest will help keep you motivated and fired up about what you are doing.  Three is that when times get hard, good friends can keep you from getting discouraged.

5. Help others: The best feeling you will ever have comes from helping others. After you have helped someone for no reason, you will, for sure, have a better day. I find it amazing that the best feeling you can get is from giving.

5 thing's you can do to be more successful

1. Set goals: Most people go their whole lives with out knowing what they want. Set yourself apart, have a goal.
2. Write those goals down: You would think this is was a no brainer. If you set a goal write it down. That helps to give it substance in your mind.
3. Surround yourself with like minded people: Ok you have a goal and you wrote it down now surround yourself with people doing the same thing. This will help keep you motivated especially when times get tough. A coal in a fire stays hot, but a coal outside the fire burns out quickly.
4. Find a mentor: This is super important Find someone that has what you want and have them teach you. They have already gone through the school of hard knocks so they can help you avoid their mistakes.
5. Be coachable: No one will put time into you if they don't think you will learn. One of the best things you can learn to be in life is coachable. This will open doors that you never believed possible.

I hope these tips help you. As always leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts and questions. Thanks for viewing and we look forward to talking on the next post.

Putting it all to gather

Putting it all to gather
So we have talked about the three things you need to do to be successful but how does this help you?
That’s the real question. Let’s jump right in. In the begging what you need to remember is that we are looking for an effort not perfection. If you get off track that’s ok. When you notice you have wavered just make the correction. This is a process that takes time and you are going to fail at some point. The important thing is that when you do fail you get back on track as fast as you can.
We are going to want to start by getting a clear idea of what our end goal is.  We are then going to put this firmly in our mind.  We are also going to write our goals down. We will put pictures of the objective in places that we can see them often, We are going to sit and think about what it will be like when we have accomplished our goal; for at least 5 minutes a day.   Armed with this focus we will train our mind to make decisions that propel us toward our goals.  How this works is that when you know what you want and when you focus on that thing you subconsciously make choices that move you in the right direction as well as the fact that consciously if you know what you want you are more likely to choose the option that moves you toward your goal . Now we are also going to have reminders set up so that we can check our progress toward the goal. We can set these up for when certain things happen as well as for at certain times in the month. This as we have talked about helps us to realize when we are off track. Past doing this the only other thing we have to do is stay positive and upbeat. This is by far the hardest thing to do because the bigger the dream the more you will have to struggle to achieve it. Just keep that in mind when you are struggling. The more you are struggling the closer to your goal you are getting.  In order to help keep your attitude right surround yourself with good people to help keep you stoked. As they say a coal outside the fire burns out quickly. Also find people that are doing what you are doing. These people will be able to relate to you and help you out more than most.

Follow these steps and you should be able to triumph over anything that comes your way.. There is so much more I could go into on this subject and I will in later articles. For now this is a very good intro to using the success concepts to start getting real and positive growth in the areas you are focused on improving.

The new year

                                     Happy new year

Hello and happy new year. I hope you all had as good a time as I did. As we move into this new beginning I wish you all the best. Look back at last year. Learn from the success and learn from the failures. Use these to build and strengthen you. This year is your year seize it.

Let's take a look at how we can prepare for this new year. We can start by looking at what we want out of this year. List all the things you want to do this year. Then go over the list to see what can be done. What will move you closest to your end goal? As you look over your list mark the things you want to do out so that you can get a clear picture of what you have on your plate then mark the ones that you really want to do out. This will help to keep you from over committing. Also list out cost so that you can keep it within your budget. That knocks out two birds with one stone. Now let's set up a few mile markers in our planner. We can make the mile markers anything we want from when a specific thing happens to just a date on the calendar.  Like at the end of the month we will look at how we did at the task we had set out to do. Success or failure doesn't matter at this point. This is just a check to see where we are. So that if we need to improve in an area we can and quickly so we don't lose to much time and energy. As we move through the year we can keep on track and make this the most successful year yet.
